ADMISSIONS TO THE ACADEMIES @ ENGLEWOOD
The Academies @ Englewood serves the children of Englewood and Englewood Cliffs as well as students from over 30 Bergen County districts and districts outside Bergen County.
The Interdistrict Public School Choice Program allows students who live outside Englewood and Englewood Cliffs to apply to the Academies @ Englewood. To be eligible, a student must be enrolled at the time of application in a public school of his/her district of residence and must have attended public school in the district of residence for at least one year immediately preceding enrollment in the choice district.
(All acceptances are conditional on re-authorization of the Interdistrict Public School Choice Program.)

Englewood and Englewood Cliffs residents are exempt from this requirement; that
is, students who live in Englewood or Englewood Cliffs who attend private or
parochial school are eligible for admission to the Academies@Englewood.
Open House dates are: Tuesday, October 19th; Wednesday, November 10th and Tuesday, December 7th.
Open Houses begin at 7:00PM in the Auditorium.
Parking is available behind Dwight Morrow High School.

STEPS IN THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS
- Click here to download an application. You may also obtain a hard copy of the application packet from the Academies @ Englewood program. If you have not attended one of the open houses, you can call 201-862-6051 to request a packet be mailed home. Students must file applications by January 28, 2011.
- Parents/guardians of out-of-district students must file a Notice of Intent to Participate in the School Choice Program with their home district superintendent by January 7, 2011. Download the Notice of Intent.
- The district must send a letter to the parent/guardian by January 21, 2011, informing the parent that the child may apply to the Academies @ Englewood. You must include this letter with the Notice of Intent. Download Notification to Parent letter.
- The application requires that the applicants district provide information to the Academies @ Englewood and also requires two letters of recommendation, one from a math teacher and one from a humanities teacher. - The Entrance Test for the Academies @ Englewood program will take place on January 29 and 30, 2011 at the Academies @ Englewood.
- Students will be notified of their acceptance or rejection by April 1, 2011. Students who are accepted must file a Notice of Intent to Enroll with the Academies @ Englewood program by April 15, 2011. Waiting list students will receive notice of acceptance by April 22, 2011.
- Please RSVP for the Induction Ceremony in April/May at 201-862-6051 or airby@epsd.org. When you call/email to make your reservation for the ceremony, please indicate the number of individuals in your party. You will receive additional information about the Induction Ceremony at a later date.
